Dental Study

Invitation to Dental Study

CM, Univeristy of Nicolai Copernicus in Toruń, would like to invite you and your family to the dental study.

The aim of the study is a population-based, orthodontic and dental screening to assess the health of the oral cavity (teeth, periodontium, chewing function) of soldiers and their families, of various nationalities, stationed at the Joint Forces Training Centre in Bydgoszcz.

The study is of key importance for the health of the oral cavity in the context of combat readiness and the general health of soldiers. Soldiers are particularly vulnerable to dental problems due to the specifics of military service and frequent changes of address (stress, irregular meals, difficult access to dental care on military bases), which constitute risk factors. Similar exposure applies to their families and loved ones.

This comprehensive dental and orthodontic screening will provide valuable insights into the oral health status of military personnel and their families. The examination includes a detailed assessment of dental conditions, periodontal health, occlusal function, and potential orthodontic needs. All findings will be documented and participants will receive personalized recommendations for maintaining optimal oral health.

Participation in this study contributes to advancing scientific knowledge about oral health in military populations and helps identify preventive strategies that can improve the overall well-being of soldiers and their families. The study will take the form of a one-time meeting with a dentist, a specialist orthodontist and the examination is free of charge.

We encourage all eligible participants to take advantage of this opportunity. Your participation is voluntary and all data collected will be handled with strict confidentiality in accordance with medical research standards and data protection regulations.

Soldiers and their families are exposed to specific service conditions, frequent travel, and relocation, which may negatively affect the condition of the masticatory organ.

Functional disorders of the stomatognathic system (e.g. bruxism, temporomandibular joint dysfunction) may occur more frequently in soldiers due to psychophysical loads.

The dental care system in the military cannot always provide complete diagnosis and treatment, which can lead to the accumulation of oral health problems.

The STUDY will start in January 2026! Book your appointment today!
